Hi Dave,
I was excited to find your site! I am just starting ESE....bought the book 2 weeks ago. I have been trying the fasts for 2 weeks (2 times a week) but 3 times out of 4 only made it to 18 hours (leanagins) but I am going to continue, because like you said, I just have to get used to it and then it will come easy. So next week I will try different times. So you are 100% clean eater...no alcohol, cupcakes, etc here and there? I work out 3 times with weights and kickbox 3 times a week, but I do like my wine and an occasional sweet.
Thanks for your answer!

This Definetely worked for me. I am
5'2 and was 130lbs and I lost 11lbs by eating about 900 calories a day and running about 3 miles a day for about 2 months. I just got used to limiting my calorie intake. There were times that I did "cheat" but I just made up for it other days. I stopped doing this at the end of fall and gained 8 lbs back. But just started back again & down 2.5 lbs in a week. It really is more of thr calorie intake that matters more than working out in my opinion. It's only really hard for the first 3-4 days but once u see a pound off thr scale you want to keep going, like a competition with yourself. I'm going away in 6 weeks so trying to get to 110 as I am 126 now. We'll see but I'm on thr right track now and I am running at the gym 5 days a week for 30 mins. It's tough but I feel better than ever :)

@ Debi
Do they have to be taken in the morning or can you take them later in the day with food ? Otherwise you could try fasting from breakfast to breakfast.

Hi Jo,

Great to hear things are going well.

It's quite common for people who start I.F. to start to skip breakfast as they are no longer hungry. It's rare for me to eat it too these days. If I do eat breakfast it tends to be on weekends, and I eat later, so more like a brunch really.Good to see that the periods of fasting are getting you more in tune with feelings of hunger.

Hi Kelly, well if it is working for you, that is what is important. Certainly nothing wrong with an 18 hour fast.

Dave,
Thank you so much for your great site. I use this program to MAINTAIN my weight. I am very lean and at goal weight and yet I love FOOD! So every 2 weeks I eat a large amount of my favorite foods and then fast for 18 hours after. Would love to hear your thoughts on this!
